Goal: Students will create a variety of graphs. Materials: http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/ Target group: LRC elementary students Procedure: Using the above website, students will take information gathered from a survey and create graphs (in this case a bar graph). From the graph created, students will answer questions about their completed graph. As they become more familiar with reading and creating bar graphs, they are required to come up with ideas for their own bar graph, create the graph, and have 5 questions about the graph. The created graph can be given to a fellow class mate to read and answer the questions. This activity is to be expanded to include pie graphs, line graphs, etc. Students can eventually look for trends and make predictions. Assessments: teacher observations, class work
